Everett High School
While working at Everett High School, in Lansing, Michigan, I observed a Psychology teacher and had the opportunity to work with students identified as reading at below grade level standards. I spent the spring semester at Everett High School working one on one with students to improve reading skills and comprehension. In the one-on-one sessions I implemented lesson plans, which I created, for the book, The Hunger Games, and worked on reading out loud with students, reading skills, and more in order to improve reading comprehension. These one-on-one sessions were held twice a week and gave me the opportunity to create lesson plans to improve reading skills and to take a deeper look at how students learn to read and comprehend material.
